We were (and still are) the Warriors. Apparently political correctness hasn't quite made its way to the north Oregon coast yet.

But we considered ourselves lucky because most of the other teams in our area had such fierce mascots as: Fishermen, Loggers, and Cheesemakers. (Oh my!) |

Most of our opponents had the standard names like Trojans and Tigers, but I always felt bad for the school that had the Colts. How are you supposed to be intimidated by "the Colts"? _________________ You're way too intelligent for my sarcasm.

My high school was the Grafton Bearcats.
My college was the West Liberty Hilltoppers (appropriate since we were on top of a hill), yet the mascot was a bear. I haven't figured that one out. |

Bumble Bee for elementary School
Raccoon for private school
Forgot what it was for Junior High
Panthers for High School
Wildcats for 90s college (never went to a game, though--the most I did for homecoming was to go to the parade, but it was impossible not to miss it as my dorm was on the parade route, plus you could also get a week's worth of candy thrown at you; I almost loaned my brother's Karmen Ghia for one year's parade--they always needed cars--but my brother said absolutely not.)
I went to Culinary School at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale; I'm pretty sure we didn't have sports
Eagles for UNT at my current college
My parents went to Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Their mascot was a bear, and yes, Baylor had a bear pit with actual bears in it, and from what I am told, it still does. |

We were the Pioneers and our school's main rivals were the Statesmen. |
