Anthony Dollar (also known as the Carter Quarter) was minted -- I bought my first clock radio -- I had my own TV, which was a black and white Panasonic that I got for Christmas 1979 It looked just like this model here, except it had a white instead of an orange casing.

The Pittsburg Steelers defeat the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl XIII by a score of 35-31. The Phillips Company demonstrated a new technology, the Compact Disc. The Daytona 500 was shown live, flag-to-flag, a first for network TV. (CBS) Chrysler asks the gov't for a $1B bailout, deja vu anybody?
