Mikey, tell us what you liked (or like) about Small Wonder.
Personally, I only saw a couple of episodes. The girl's a robot with a dad from the future, or something like that..?

Best, view
"Out of This World" was the show with the teen girl Evie with the dad from the future. Donna Pescow played her mother. Ran for 3 seasons in syndication.
"Small Wonder" featured the girl robot played by Tiffany Brissette who lives with her human family. Edie McClurg played the nosy neighbor. Ran for 4 seasons in syndication.
Classic 80s off-network entertainment. _________________ "Over one thousand served" |

Brief redown of the premise: Vicki is a prototype robot invented by the father. Until she's perfected and ready to market, he's decided to have her live with him, his wife, and their son, who's the same apparent age as the robot, passing her off as a visiting cousin. Her robotic voice they pass off as a regional accent. They all go to great lengths to conceal Vicki's non-human status from outsiders, a particular difficulty with next-door neighbor Harriet, an incorrugable snoop with a crush on the son. (Should note: This is NOT the neighbor played by Edie McClurg. I think she was Harriet's mom, maybe?)
The show's fondly remembered by many as a childhood slice of TV kiddie-show cheese, falling into what I like to call the 'My Magic Friend' genre.

Is it just me, or does anyone else here find the image on the DVD box just a little inappropriate? I know she's a robot and all, but still...button her dress back!
That being said, I'm guilty of watching several episodes of this show back when it was in its original syndicated run. Not a great show by a long shot, but really, by 1980s comedy writing standards, it was only marginally subpar to a lot of stuff that made it to network prime-time, such as the latter years of "Diff'rent Strokes" or "Gimme A Break". _________________ Zombies, man.
