Converse (Chuck Taylor All-Star)
Posted: Sat May 23, 2009 6:10 am Central Time
I loved the All Stars in the 70's. Theyu were $14.95 which my mom sometimes thought was too much for shoes however every now and then shey'd splurge. If not the All Star's shey'd by the Converse Coach's which cost $10.00 and did not last as long on the asphalt basketball court - I'd wear out that spot in the ball of my foot on the court!
Loved the red shoes - matched our Jr. High and High School colors!! |

I remember wearing those back in the day. A friend of my oldest brother had a purple pair...we girls thought they were so cool, the boys...not so much!
My kids love Converse All-Stars and once in a while I can find a good deal in the clearance section at the Converse store.
A couple months ago I bought 2 of my girls satin (I know...not our All-Stars) slip-ons for $2.97 a pair!! |

I collect them! eBay is my friend! I have sixteen pair, but still my favorites are my low-top black ones. They go with everything!

I lived in Converse high-tops throughout high school (1981 - 1985.) They were inexpensive, comfortable, and covered your socks when you pegged your jeans. Plus you could draw on 'em! _________________ Matthew Wayne Selznick

I always thought Converse was only for kids. _________________ Oh Gloria, with hair like granite. |
