Freakin' sweet retro kitchen appliances!
Posted: Sat Oct 24, 2009 11:10 pm Central Time
Anybody ever heard of Elmira Stove Works? I just found out about them this week in a DYI magazine I was flipping through. They make stoves, refrigerators and microwaves in 1950's retro styles, but with modern technology! I never thought a sentence like this would emanate from my mouth, but these are the most gorgeous kitchen appliances I've ever seen. I'd love to have a kitchen furnished with them. I'd roll in my black & white 13" TV and tune in Ed Sullivan while whipping up a roast and I'd be in heaven.

Anybody grow up with appliances like these?
DISCLAIMER: I in no way, shape or form have any ties to Elmira Stove Works. I just think their stuff is cool. Really.
DISLCAIMER DISCLAIMER: Okay, I lived in Elmira back in the early 1980s. But I didn't know anybody who worked for this company.
DISCLAIMER DISCLAIMER DISCLAIMER: Okay, you got me. I dated the founder's daughter for a couple of weeks back in 1984.
DISCLAIMER DISCLAIMER DISCLAIMER DISCLAIMER: Well, that's not actually true. I spied on her from the tree across the street from her house for a while, then one day I fell out of the tree and her dad almost ran over me. He felt so bad for almost killing me that he made it up to me by having his daughter go with me to the "Enchantment Under the Sea" dance at our school.
DISCLAIMER DISCLAIMER DISCLAIMER DISCLAIMER DISCLAIMER: Okay, I lifted some of that from "Back to the Future", but I did spy on her from the tree across the street. I never did really go with her to the dance, though. Never really dated her, either. So there! I don't have any ties to this company! HA! _________________ Zombies, man. They creep me out. |

any ties to this company! HA! view That place is near where my parents live. About 40min drive.
And my farther has one of the insert stoves in his fire place. Got it when I was 5-6 and it's been pumping hot air out ever since. It warms up the entire basement very well. _________________

You might want to take your mittens off before you start typing.

Wizard has a charming way of putting it, but the point is a good one. It's best to use a regular, conversational typing / writing style here. There's no limit on the number of characters you can use, so there's no need to use texting shortcuts or 1337speak. I personally have a hard time interpreting your syntax; others might as well and be less incline to engage you.

If I understand you correctly, you're asking how to add pictures to a forum post?
When you start a new thread or reply to an existing one like this, simply click on the little icon on the far right of the toolbar above the edit window. It looks like a mountain with a sun over it. That will open the image upload dialog box.
best,

goes way beyond just bad spelling. It's mostly indecipherable.
