Re: Marty Ingels

Marty Ingels starred with John Astin in the sitcom "I'm Dickens, He's Fenster" in 1962.  Astin and Ingels played two carpenters who ran a home repair business.  Astin was the responsible married man and Ingels was a swinging bachelor.  Lots of slapstick.  Cancelled after one season.

Ingels later appeared in the tv show "The Pruitts of Southampton" in 1966 starring Phylis Diller as a matriarch of a wealthy family who goes broke.  The Pruitt family had to keep up a front that they were wealthy because the news of the family going broke would destroy the business world.  The Pruitts had to think of ways to pay off the IRS and making ends meet  Midway through the season, Marty Ingels, John Astin, Richard Deacon, Billy DeWolfe, and Paul Lynde joined the cast as boarders in the Pruitt mansion.  The show was cancelled after one season.

Re: Marty Ingels

Now you see why I joined Retroland. This is the only website where members provide valuable information on shows and actors that fill-in the missing pieces of my "jigsaw puzzle-like" TV memory, lol!

I was just too little to remember shows like "I'm Dickens, He's Fenster".  Years later I read somewhere that Emmaline Henry, who played Kate Dickens, was the actress who rocked as "Amanda Bellows" in "I Dream Of Jeannie". Well whaddaya know, my imformation was correct!

Here's a clip from youtube:
