It was the best episode ever and I've only been able to catch it that one time, three or four years ago.
The most important thing he talked about (to me) was the origin of the BBBBRRRUUUCE! in "Don't Bring Me Down." view
So, what was it? |

#1 has to be Mr. Blue Sky. It's so upbeat. I remember playing it on my laptop in Hawaii and it's now irretrievably linked with good memories.
#2 is Twilight. I associate it with the Daicon IV Bunny Girl video (which I've actually seen at the Nihon SF Daikai!)
#3 is probably Sweet Talking Woman. My brother considers that one of the finest songs ever written and I can't disagree. |

I can't choose my top 3, but here are my favorites in no order:
Can't Get It Out Of My Head
Stange Magic
Evil Woman
Telephone Line
Don't Bring Me Down
Livin' Thing
Do Ya
Turn To Stone
Hold On Tight
NOTES
For the record, it's not "Bruce!" in Don't Bring Me Down. It's "Gruß!", which is German for "Hey!" _________________ Oh Gloria, with hair like granite. |

Ohhhhhhhh....limiting it to only 3 favorites is cruel and unusual!
Having said that and in no particular order.....
1. Fire on High
2. Mister Blue Sky
3. Sweet Talkin' Woman
Note: This list is subject to change from moment to moment and without warniing! |

Here's what it says at wikipedia which references the Flashback boxset:
Quote: according to liner notes, he is actually saying a made-up word "Grroosss". This is similar to a German word for "greeting", Gruß, possibly referring to the Bavarian greeting Grüß Gott that the group would have heard while recording the album in Munich. However, after the song's release, so many people had misinterpreted the word as Bruce that Jeff Lynne actually began to sing the word as Bruce for fun at live shows.
That was the story he told on Storytellers.
I would also like to add that his contribution to the Xanadu soundtrack was fantastic. _________________ People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.

One of my all-time favorite bands. Jeff Lynne is a true pop genius, and the heir apparent to the Beatles, as proclaimed by John Lennon after hearing On the Third Day....
Impossible to limit to three, so:
Waterfall
Strange Magic
Rockaria
Do Ya
Shangri-La
Sweet Talkin' Woman
Mr. Blue Sky
Livin' Thing
Tightrope
Can't Get it Out of My Head
And more... |

I've often said if you listen to Jeff Lynne sing, it sounds very much like John Lennon.
My three:
Telephone Line
Can't Get It Out of My Head
Evil Woman _________________ The spammers are taking over.
