Shows/ Concerts You Could've Seen, But Passed On

Me- ZZ Top.

I accidentally won radio contest tix to see em & I barely knew who they were at the time, so I didn't go. They asked to be the 25th caller or something & for kicks, I just tried..& won.

One of our local stations had a call-in contest to win Tina Turner tickets.  Like you, for the heck of it I called and ended up being the # caller they wanted.  They had another contest going on at the time (giving away either a caribbean vacation or cash) that I was more interested in winning and since you could only win one contest per 30 day period, I hung up.

Never did win that other contest. Sad

Pink Floyd in 1987. A friend had tickets but I chose to go to Florida with my parents to their beach house. I travel regularly to that same beach house....but never saw Floyd.

I'm an idiot!

Re: Shows/ Concerts You Could've Seen, But Passed On

I passed on going to see INXS on their tour for the "Kick" album, to get back at a friend of mine.  Believe it.   Here's the story:  We had been going to several concerts that summer, and so naturally, when Huey Lewis & the News tickets were on sale, I bought mine, assuming he and his girlfriend would get theirs soon after.  When I asked him later if he'd gotten his, he replied, "Oh, no, we didn't plan on going to THAT one!"  I was really put off.  I ended up going to the concert solo.

The next time they came calling for a concert, it was for INXS.   As much as I really wanted to go, I made up some excuse that I couldn't go, just because I was mad at them.  I don't know if they figured out what I was doing, but they sure wanted me to go.  In retrospect, I should've gone, but I was just too ticked over the Huey Lewis debacle.  And now, I can't see INXS...at least not the real INXS, with Michael Hutchence.  Bummer.

Well, I had a 3rd row ticket to see Rick Springfield over the summer, but my mom was sick w/ her cancer, so of course I passed. I gave to the ticket to my friend. I think I'll hit his cruise next year (I hope he has one then!)
