A 70s memory of Pitchback
Posted: Wed Nov 04, 2009 2:53 pm Central Time

Anybody have a Pitchback in their backyard? My brother wasn't much of a sports fan, so if I wanted to play catch, I had to resort to a Pitchback. It wasn't quite the same as a human, but it was enough to keep me occupied during long summer breaks.
btw, I found the above picture on a blog that relates a very humorous memory of Pitchback. You can read it here: Disappointing Childhood Toy: The Pitchback |

Yeah, I had one. Worked pretty well as I recall. |

I grew up with 4 brothers who all played baseball...with a father who coached High School baseball along with Little League it was somewhat inevitable! Needless to say, we went through several Pitchbacks over the years. |

We had one of those. A friend of mine in his infinite wisdom tried to see if it could stop him on his BMX bike when he hit it riding full tilt. It took us several hours to untangle the thing from the wheels, chain, and handlebars of his bicycle. _________________
