Today is Free Slurpee Day!!
Posted: Tue Jul 11, 2006 12:31 pm Central Time
In honor of 7-11's 79th birthday, if you stop by your local store you can get a 7.11 oz Slurpee free. Whoopie!!
Hey remember when Slurpees came in two flaveors? Cola and Red? Have you been to a 7-11 lately? Ours has like four machines going, all with different flavors and they even have cups with three compartments so you can have a Slurpee foursome. Anyway, just wanted to let you know in case you felt like going in to mooch off 7-11. |

The funny thing is, we've lived here for 3 1/2 years and I can count the number of times I've been in there on one hand. I guess I don't have much need for overpriced snack foods and tankard size fountain drinks. |

Oooh, I'm goin' in to get a peanut butter Slurpee!
But it disturbs me that they're making money off our national tragedy. 7/11 was a day of infamy that should live in our hearts forever, not be the source of some low-priced fountain drink! _________________

I'm at least a good hour and a half from a 7-11.
Too far for a free slurpee.
Tempting but no. _________________ People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.

waxxlipz wrote: Seriously??? Nationwide?? I'm going out for a Slurpee!!! view Well... I took the kids over there and it was anticlimactic to say the least. First of all the cups were hidden behind a microwave and we had to ask for them. Then the cups were Dixie sized, had no lids, and the manager lady was shooting us dirty looks the whole time the kids were filling up. I felt so bad about even asking, I that I bought a bag of (somewhat hard to find) Funyons. Our Safeway carried Funyons with Wasabi, but not the regular ones. I like Wasabi with sushi, but I'm a little apprehensive about having it on a Funyon. |

Well, that blows. The only 7-Eleven store I know if is located on Bank Street in Ottawa...which is a 90 minute drive (or 2 hours depending on traffic) away. _________________ "Every heartbeat is a soundtrack to your life" ~ Kylie Minogue |

All of the 7-11's here were bought out by Circle K in the late 80s. We are a Slurpee deprived bunch here. _________________ "I couldn't feel any better or I'd be sick' - Dean Martin

Well, dammit, I wish I'd read this sooner! I usually drink a Cherry Coke Slurpee every morning and today I decided to get Dunkin' Donuts coffee instead.
It would have been nice to get a free Slurpee but the massive caffeine buzz I got from that coffee was pretty awesome......... |

Ok, so I tried the 7-11 Store locator on their website. Here is what I got:
"Sorry, we couldn't find any locations near New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. And frankly, we have no plans of putting one there either. Look what happened to the last ones that were there! Besides, does anyone actually still live in New Orleans? And if they do, we expect that they probably have more pressing issues than drinking slurpees. Why don't you just go to one of those drive-thru (float-thru) daiquiri places and get all liquored up? You could probably use a good stiff drink. Besides, if you still live in New Orleans, you are more than likely completely nuts. We suggest that you move. Now. Preferably to a place with lots of 7-11's. Because a 7-11 is the center of the universe. And there are more than 27,900 centers of the universe worldwide. Just not in Louisiana. Idiot."
I didn't expect the website to be so petulant. I guess I'm not getting a free slurpee today.
