Some days, I have a lot of fun here, and can come up with a lot of discussion topics. Others, I find the place dull, and can barely come up with anything to say.

I'm not saying that I'm disinterested all the time. There are times I post a hell of a lot...other times, I post not that much. It all depends on what interests me.  view

Granted, YAGES aren't the best idea, and they tend to do more harm than good.

There is a possibility that there might be more to it than him just being dramatic, though. Of course, only Dave knows the real reason for that, and he might not wish to tell us, and that's his right.

Dave, I'm going to be really serious with you here. I hope that this does not make you angry, but at the same time, it needs to be said, because I think that this is the only way that you might be able to understand. And, seeing as how you've said that you'll lurk here, I have a feeling that you'll read this anyway.

Dave, I can understand your frustrations...really I do. Some days, I have a lot of fun here, and can come up with a lot of discussion topics. Others, I find the place dull, and can barely come up with anything to say. Some days, I can get along with mostly everyone, while other days, I don't agree with anything anybody says. But, Dave, such is life. Some days are good, some are bad, and some you just feel like you don't even want to get out of bed. That's unavoidable and unpredictable. But, what you can control is how you deal with the crazy and unpleasant situations that might be thrown at you.

You want to take a break. Perfectly acceptable. At the same time, don't make a huge announcement over it. Generally, they don't go over well, and they tend to do more harm than good.

And, above all else, don't take things so seriously here. I could understand how hurt you would feel if this was the real world (especially since I have been there myself), but think about it, Dave. How likely are you to meet all the people here? Not very. If people give you a hard time over what you are posting, click on the ignore button! Nobody will think of you any less because you happen to dislike someone here. And, if you're worried about people not responding to your posts, don't let it get you down. Everyone has different things that interest them, and there are some subjects that I myself overlook, just as you have.

I am not going to tell you to stay...that's entirely your choice. What I am telling you to do is to really stop and think, and come to a conclusion over what you really want. Nobody else can do that for you, Dave. And, whether you decide to remain a part of RL or sever all ties with it, as long as you're okay with it, that is all that matters. But the yo-yo effect between YAGE-ing and coming back. That's not good for the community...and more importantly, it isn't good for YOURSELF.
