I've been trying to track down this movie for a long time.  It is likely from the mid 80's to early 90's.  The little I can remember involved a group of kids who team up with an adult.  One of the kids has a remote control helicopter.  They may (or may not) have attached a camera to it.



It had a Monster Squad like vibe. Not that it had monsters in it, but in that kids were teaming up with an adult against someone (something).  The main thing I recall is a part where they use a remote control helicopter.  I think the helicopter is destroyed shortly after - either by the "bad guys" or by crashing into something.



The only movie I've been able to find in searches for "remote control helicopter" is Moving with Richard Pryor and Randy Quaid.  That is not it.



Any help would be appreciated.

The only movie I can think of that might qualify is Remote from 1993.



As I recall it is kind of a Home Alone knock off where a kid is playing in a residential plan construction site and witnesses some criminal activity of one sort or another.  He uses his radio control helicopter among other gadgets to foil the bad guys.  It is available on VHS from Amazon but it doesn't look like it has been released on DVD.

I'm not sure if Remote is the one that I'm looking for.  My recollection of the movie is so vague.  I do not think that the remote control helicopter plays a big role in the movie, its just the only part of it that I can really remember.



The fact that my memory of the film is so fuzzy makes me thinkg that the movie would have to have been older than 1993 though.  It may have even been part of a television program.  I can't be sure



Either way, I'll have to track down a vhs copy of Remote and check it out.  Thanks!

I totally remember this movie also. My brother who is 31 also remembers it. We have both racked out brains trying to figure out what the name was. I want to go watch it again!

I remember other details (they are very fuzzy)

- They built a lego model of the building they were infiltrating and used it to plan their heist.
- One of the kids was really good with shooting a suction dart gun. They had to use his skills to press a button on the wall using the darts.
- I'm almost positive the helicopter had a camera on it and they flew it remotely.

Maybe together we can figure it out?

I found Remote posted on Youtube.  It is in 9 segments and is opened with a brief inroduction/commentary by the poster.  Here is a link to part 1 of 9.  The movie starts after a bout 4 minutes of commentary.  Hope this jogs some memories.

I checked out "Remote" on youtube. It's definitely not the movie I'm thinking of. Oh well, maybe someday I'll figure it out.

Finally found the name of the film.  It was a 1986 made for tv movie for ABC's Wonderful World of Disney called Little Spies.
