An obscure one...
"BOAT TO SAIL", by the Carpenters...
ends with,"De Shannon is back...",
a reference to Jackie De Shannon, who wrote the song. _________________ "I can do all things through CHRIST, Who strengthens me."

On the road for forty days,
Last night in little rock put me in a haze.
Sweet, sweet connie -- doin her act,
She had the whole show and thats a natural fact.
Up all night with FREDDIE KING,
I got to tell you pokers his thing.
A-booze n ladies keep me right,
As long as we can make it to the show tonight.
i always thought they said: "I got to tell you, FOCUS here sang", meaning the rock act FOCUS. (instead of "I got to tell you pokers his thing.")
KING's a big favorite of mine, so thanks for clearing that up! |
